ABOUT Shive
Shive is a magazine for everything Shive (ebonic slang meaning the best). It’s not your typical magazine. It’s not just hip-hop, its entertainment! Shive is a 58 page, on-line entertainment, mini-magazine, based in New Orleans. “Shive” magazine is informative as well as entertaining at any level. The magazine has a commitment to be a platform to profile, news people really want to know, new fashions, local artists, and models representing artistic vision in the marketplace and who can encourage others to rise above their situations.
Shive through its magazine will be a vessel to let the world know “it’s all about the people”.
We’re the magazine that people can relate to, being celebrities or just plain local common folk. Shive notices upcoming talent as well as celebrity moguls; it also gives recognition to the hottest flavors of entertainment venues.
Our mission is to promote positive images for the generations now and the ones to come. Publicly the world expect entertainers to set good examples and to be good role models. That’s fine, but what we fail to realize, entertainers have their own lives to live. We shouldn’t expect them to limit their lifestyle for our selfish reasons.

At the same time, entertainers should realize that they are role models whether they like it or not! “For instance, the music videos.
When music videos are seen,” the cars, clothes, jewelry, houses and fame is what draws the attention,” labeling it as something that’s good to have or to be in life, therefore making entertainers role models. I guess if we looked at it from both prospectives we could work together to set the good examples our kids need. Parents if we set positive influences for our kids, naturally they will raise above the negative ones.
To our aspiring entertainers, it’s no secret, the entertainment business is hard and being in it is even harder.

There are negative and positive influences. Don’t get caught up in the business to where you lose yourself. Make the money, don’t let it make you.
